Super Nintendo non-OEM reproduction Biker Mice from Mars video game cartridge.

Biker Mice from Mars is a sci-fi, isometric action-racing game released by Konami for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in December 1994. Based on the popular 1990s animated television series of the same name, the game combines high-speed motorcycle racing with aggressive combat.

Game Plot & Setting

The story closely follows the cartoon's lore. After the fish-faced Plutarkians destroy their home planet of Mars, three humanoid alien mice—Throttle, Modo, and Vinnie—flee to Earth and settle in Chicago. Upon discovering that the Plutarkian leader, Lawrence Limburger, intends to pillage Earth next, the mice take to the streets to stop them.

Core Gameplay Features

  • Isometric Racing: The game is viewed from an overhead, diagonal perspective, similar to classic arcade racers like Rock n' Roll Racing.
  • Character Roster: Players can choose from six distinct racers. This includes the three heroic mice (Throttle, Modo, and Vinnie) and three villains from the show (Lawrence Limburger, Dr. Karbunkle, and Greasepit).
  • Combat & Special Abilities: Every character drives a unique motorcycle equipped with specific weapons and special moves. For instance, players can trigger localized earthquakes or shoot projectiles to disrupt and slow down opponents.
  • Upgrades: Winning races earns cash prize money. Players spend this income between rounds to upgrade their bike's engine, tires, armor, and weapon capacity.
  • Game Modes: The game features multiple modes, including Practice, Main Race (Campaign), and Battle Race. It also features a fully functional splitscreen multiplayer mode for two players.
